My Story (Journey)
The Problem
I did everything I was told to do. Got educated. Got employed. Worked hard. Moved up. And still — month after month — I felt financially behind. Not because I wasn't trying. Because nobody ever taught me how money actually works. School gave me degrees. It gave me zero financial education. The gap between what I knew and what the real world demanded was enormous. And I was paying for it silently, every single month.
The Loss
In 2016 I entered the digital asset space with genuine conviction. And I lost $7,500 to rug pulls, overseas schemes, and decisions made on hype instead of understanding. I didn't leave bitter. I left with one painful, clear truth — the problem was never the asset. It was me investing before I was educated. So I stopped investing in assets and started investing in knowledge. Over the next decade I spent $15,000 in self-directed financial education. Monetary theory. Macroeconomics. Blockchain. Digital asset strategy. Everything the formal system never taught me.
The Mission
That journey built Sound Money Coaching. Because I know exactly what it feels like to be informed enough to know something is wrong, but not yet equipped with the framework to fix it. That's the gap I exist to close. Not with hype. Not with signals. With structured, honest financial education that makes you calm, clear, and in control - permanently.
What I Believe
Education must come before investment always. Most people lose money not because the market is cruel, but because they entered without a foundation. I believe no one should risk a single rand in any asset they don't fully understand. Knowledge is not preparation for investing. It is the investment.
The financial system was not designed to make ordinary people free. Inflation is not an accident. Fiat currency loses value by design. The people who understand this don't panic — they position. I believe financial literacy is not optional. It is the most urgent skill of our generation.
Discipline and structure will always outperform excitement and hype. Markets will always produce noise. Emotions will always respond to it. But a person with a clear framework doesn't react, they execute. I believe calm, structured thinking is the real edge in any financial market.
